With cooking classes appropriately called Epicure, Mrs. Asha Khatau's been taking vegetarian cuisine to anyone from college students to chefs to homemakers.

In fact she's got so many recipes to share -- genre-blenders like 'creamed corn fondue, 'lentil waffles' and 'grape quiche' -- she's authored six cookbooks, and a couple more are on the way.

She shares her gourmet recipes to "dazzle the eye, excite the mind, delight the palate, satisfy the craving and transport you to heaven!"

After 25 years of experience in providing meals for my family and friends, she was persuaded to start her own cooking classes about 10 years ago. These classes feature regional cuisines from all over the world. She has travelled extensively, in India and abroad also conducted demonstrations in India and several other countries. She wrote her first cookbook in 2002 and since then there has been no looking back. Miss. Asha has written six books on vegetarian cuisine, all of which has been tremendously successful.

Miss. Asha Khatau's first book vegetarian Cuisines of the World was awarded the "Best Vegetarian Book in the World", at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2002 in France. Delectable Desserts of the World, published in 2005, won Honourable Mention in the "Best Foreign Cookbook in the World" category at the Gourmand awards in 2006. These awards for food and wine books are considered to be the "Oscars" of the cookery world.

Miss. Asha Khatau was the only Indian author whose book, Exciting Vegetarian Cuisines of the World won honours at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2011. At the recently held Gourmand World Cookbook Awards held in Paris, Miss. Asha Khatau was honoured for her outstanding career in vegetarian books. She received a citation and a medal from Mr.Edouard Cointreau, the president of gourmand international and founder of Gourmand world cookbook awards which are considered the Oscars in cookbooks category.

With this award, Mrs. Asha Khatau once again proves that international vegetarian cuisine is not only varied, easily adaptable and delicious, but easy to make at home! Whether it is American, Continental, Mexican, Mediterranean, Italian, or Pan Asian, there is a recipe to suit every taste and palate. Miss. Asha Khatau placed third among the top ten authors/chefs for their outstanding career in year 2010.
