What is the format for SISMUN ? Is this open to delegates from Middle School?
 

SISMUN follows HMUN procedure. For further information, please visit www.hmun.org

Yes SISMUN is open for students from grade 7 onwards. This is also open for College students. We hope to have a blend of both novice and experienced delegates.

 
Am I allowed to choose my country in a council of preference?
 
The countries are allotted by us. We will give a country list to the students and allow the school to choose the appropriate committee per student.
 
What is the size of one delegation?
 

One delegation consists of five delegates. (For each of the five committees)

 
Is there a limit to the number of delegations my school can register?
 

No, your school may register as many delegations as they wish to.

 
Is there a need to submit position papers?
 
Yes, HMUN procedure involves the submission of position papers.
 
What is the fee for SISMUN?
 
The registration fee is Rs. 1500, payable by cheque to "Singapore International School"
 
Is food provided at the venue?
 
Yes, there will be vegetarian meals provided each day: Breakfast, Lunch and Tea.
 
What are some websites that can be relied upon for research?
 
Some websites that can be used to research are:

Are delegates allowed to carry laptops, electronic encyclopedia etc.?
 
Delegates are allowed to carry laptops and other electronic encyclopedia but the usage is restricted to outside committees and not while the proceedings are on.
 
What are the criteria for judging of delegates at SISMUN?
 
Judging of awards will be based on the following criteria:

1) Adherence to the formal procedures and respect to the rules of the conference.
2) Good oratory skills, ability to articulate and display of confidence during presentations.
3) Knowledge of United Nations structure and function.
 
Do the participants get a participation certificate?
 
All delegates participating in SISMUN will be given a participation certificate for SISMUN.
 
What is Panel Discussion?
 
SISMUN will have a panel discussion to discuss the topic.
 
What is the format for the Panel Discussion?
 
The format of the discussion would be... there will be a introduction by the moderator and then each speaker get 9-10 minutes of speaking out...each speaker will finish and then the moderator makes a comment moves to the next speaker....at the end of the panel discussion we take about 4 to 5 questions for the panel and sometimes each one and the sometimes the whole panel responds with a brief reply to the participants.
 
What is the Photojournalism contest and how do we register for the same?
 
The schools can send the entries for Photojournalism contest. The photographs must be in A3 size with an original 100 word synopsis. The theme is diversity. The photos could be original or downloaded. Please send the email to sismun@sisindia.net for registrations. The last date to register is 20th january 2012.
 
Is the Photojournalism contest restricted to only participants of MUN ?
 
We invite the entries from all the interested schools irrespective of the fact whether they are participating in SISMUN or not.
 
How do non participating schools of SISMUN send the Photographs for Photojournalism?
