Chairman's Excellence Scholarship

To apply for Chairman’s Excellence Scholarship that is based on Grade 9 and 10 results, you need to submit the SIS Scholarship Application form. Please complete the application fully and accurately. Every application form submitted will be carefully considered in its entirety.
The Guidelines for SIS Merit Scholarship are:

This form should be filled out only by students who are currently attending Singapore International School or are in the process of securing admission to Singapore International School.
02.
Application deadline: New applicants seeking admission to Grade 11: - Only forms completed and submitted online during admission for Grade 11 will be considered for the scholarship. The scholarship amount would be deducted from the tuition fees, however, if the Grade 10 Board results do not match the criteria this amount could be revised or the scholarship offer could be rescinded.
Application deadline For SIS Students:-: Only forms which have been completed and submitted online by 21st September of while in Grade 11 will be considered for the scholarship for the current academic year.
Grade 12 Students - Only forms which have been completed and submitted online by 10th August of each academic year will be considered for the scholarship for the current academic year.

Number: Eleven Scholarships are offered. Five are offered for SIS students who have completed Grade 10 and Six for students entering SIS from other schools after completion of Grade 10.
*The school reserves the rights to exercise discretion as to the number and the amount of Scholarships awarded each year, in each category.

Nature:
A. Performance based Scholarships are offered which remit upto 50% or upto 25 % of the tuition fee for Grade 11. This scholarship is based on the Academic and Non Academic Performance in grade 10 as well as 38 points and above in both the semesters for upto 50% and 36 points and above in both the semesters for upto 25% in grade 11 of IBDP.
B. Performance based Scholarships are offered which remit upto 50% or upto 25 % of the tuition fee for Grade 12. This scholarship is based on the Academic and Non Academic Performance in grade 11 and 12, the criteria is 38 points and above in both the semesters for upto 50% and 36 points and above in both the semesters for upto 25% in grade 11 of IBDP and the final result of Grade 12.

Eligibility:
A. Scholarship of Upto 50 % tuition fees of Grade 11

External
Students applying for this scholarship should have secured an aggregate of a minimum of 95% in grade 10 school examination for national curriculum. IGCSE students will qualify only if they have achieved 8 A*, with marks not less than A in all subjects in grade 10 school examination. Students applying for the scholarship should demonstrate that they have earned distinctions/awards in sports, games, co-curricular activities, external exams, service projects, leadership projects, research projects, published articles and have represented school in various interschool competitions and conferences/events at state, national, or international level in Grade 9 and 10.
SIS Students
Students applying for this scholarship should have achieved 8 A*, with marks not less than A in final IGCSE examination. Students applying for the scholarship should demonstrate that they have earned distinctions/awards in sports, games, co-curricular activities, external exams, service projects, leadership projects, research projects, published articles and have represented school in various interschool competitions and conferences/events at state, national, or international level in Grade 9 and 10.
B. Scholarship of Upto 25 % tuition fees of Grade 11

External
Students applying for this scholarship should have secured an aggregate of a minimum of 90% in Grade 10 school examination for national curriculum. And IGCSE students will qualify only if they have achieved 7 A*, with marks not less than B in all subjects in grade 10 school examination. Students applying for the scholarship should demonstrate that they have earned distinctions/awards in sports, games, co-curricular activities, external exams, service projects, leadership projects, research projects, published articles and have represented school in various interschool competitions and conferences/events at state, national, or international level in Grade 9 and 10.
SIS Students
Students applying for this scholarship should have achieved 7 A*, with marks not less than B in final IGCSE examination. Students applying for the scholarship should demonstrate that they have earned distinctions/awards in sports, games, co-curricular activities, external exams, service projects, leadership projects, research projects, published articles and have represented school in various interschool competitions and conferences/events at state, national, or international level in Grade 9 and 10.
Number:-Eleven Scholarships are offered between both the categories.

Scholarship Based on Grade 11, 12 and Final IBDP Results :-
Grade 12: : Application deadline:
All Students – Only forms which have been completed and submitted online by 10 th August during Grade 12 as well as after final IB results by 30 th  September, will be considered for the scholarship. This scholarship is based on the final results of the IBDP. Hence, the full fees of grades 11 and 12 would have to be paid as due at the beginning of each academic year.
CRITERIA:
A. Scholarship of Up to 50 % tuition fees of Grade 12
Students applying for this scholarship should score at least 40/42 in both the terms of grade 11 and grade 12. Along with the required academic grades students should demonstrate that they have earned distinctions/awards in sports, games, co-curricular activities, external exams, service projects, leadership projects, research projects, published articles and have represented school in various interschool competitions and conferences/events at state, national, or international levels in Grade 11 as well as Grade 12. However the scholarship will only be awarded if the student scores a 43 or above in the final IBDP Examinations.

B. Scholarship of Up to 25 % tuition fees of Grade 12
Students applying for this scholarship should score at least 36/42 in both the terms of grade 11 and grade 12. Along with the required academic grades students should demonstrate that they have earned distinctions/awards in sports, games, co-curricular activities, external exams, service projects, leadership projects, research projects, published articles and have represented school in various interschool competitions and conferences/events at state, national, or international levels in Grade 11 as well as Grade 12. However the scholarship will only be awarded if the student scores a 40 or above in the final IBDP Examination

06.
Process for Application
Students, who are eligible as per the criteria mentioned on the portal, need to submit the application form available on SIS portal well in time to be eligible for the scholarship.
Optional letters of personal reference from subject teachers of different areas are required. Areas include academics, sports, art, music and any other teachers who have supervised the student directly within the previous two years of academic work would also be appropriate referees.

The reference letter from the referee must be emailed directly to the Executive Director of Admissions, Ms Saloni Modi at saloni@sisindia.net(No Hard Copies will be accepted).

The letter must clearly state the context in which the referee has taught the student and the period of time in which he/she have worked with the student. Applicants who are under consideration for scholarships may be asked to appear for a personal interview. With each application the student must submit a personal statement of at least 600 words indicating the applicant’s interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses and philosophy of life. Students must upload this document in the space provided in the application form.
Students are required to write all the four essays on the given topics and upload the​ Personal Statement in​ the space given in the application form.
